Which to choose? The train is fastest but the station is near Xingping, not Yangshuo town. The bus is the cheapest direct option. A taxi or DiDi works well for groups of three or four. Getting to Guilin
Guilin Liangjiang International Airport (KWL) handles domestic flights from across China and a limited number of international routes. Most international travelers connect through Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, or Chengdu. High-speed rail links Guilin to Guangzhou (2.5–3 hours), Shenzhen (3–3.5 hours), and Hong Kong West Kowloon (3.5–4 hours). Long-distance buses connect Guilin to nearby cities and tourist towns.

Airport to city center
Guilin Liangjiang Airport is about 28 km southwest of downtown. Options include airport bus (about ¥20, 40–60 minutes), taxi/DiDi (about ¥80–120, 30–45 minutes), and some hotel shuttles. If you are picking up a rental car, most major rental counters are at or near the airport terminal.
Train stations in Guilin
Guilin has two main high-speed rail stations:
- Guilin Railway Station (桂林站): Central location, convenient for downtown hotels.
- Guilin North Railway Station (桂林北站): Larger station north of the city, served by more long-distance high-speed trains.
- Guilin West Railway Station (桂林西站): Smaller, farther west; used by some services.
Check your ticket carefully — the stations are not interchangeable. High-speed rail to Yangshuo uses Yangshuo Railway Station, which is actually near Xingping, about 30 minutes from Yangshuo town.
Getting around Guilin
Within Guilin city, DiDi and taxis are affordable and reliable. Public buses cover the main areas but have limited English information. For the Li River, Yangshuo, and Longji, you will need a car, driver, tour, or bus.

Guilin to Longji
