Bottom line: The Ten-Mile Gallery is the easiest cycling route in Yangshuo, but it is also the busiest. Start before 8 AM to enjoy the karst scenery without the tour-bus traffic.

What to expect

The Ten-Mile Gallery (十里画廊 / Shílǐ Huàláng) is a paved road running south from Yangshuo town through a corridor of karst peaks. It is lined with signposted attractions, cafes, and shops. For cyclists, the main challenge is traffic rather than terrain.

Most riders start at Fengming Parking and ride to the Moon Hill area, stopping at viewpoints along the way. The road is mostly flat with gentle gradients. Electric bikes and scooters are common; pedal cyclists can comfortably manage the distance but should pace themselves in summer heat.

Butterfly Spring (蝴蝶泉): A cave and waterfall attraction near the start of the road.
Big Banyan Tree (大榕树): A large ancient tree with a small entry fee.
Moon Hill (月亮山): A karst arch with a short hiking trail to the viewpoint.

Traffic and timing

Private cars are restricted from the core section during daytime in peak season, but tour buses, scooters, and the free electric shuttle still use the road. The quietest time is 7:00–8:30 AM. By 10:00 AM, the road can feel busy.
