German Traveler: How the Guilin E-Bike Guide Helped My Trip

Exploring Yangshuo by e-bike was the highlight of my trip. As a german traveler used to driving on the right, I was relieved to find that the electric bikes were slow enough to give me time to react at junctions.

The route notes took me away from West Street and into quiet village lanes where water buffalo stood knee-deep in the Yulong River. I passed elderly farmers tending fields and stopped for a bowl of Guilin rice noodles at a family-run shop.

Battery range was fine for a half-day loop, but I learned to start early. By early afternoon the paths near the main bridges became busy with tour groups and returning scooters.

For other german visitors, my advice is simple: rent an e-bike for at least one full day, keep to the suggested loop, carry some cash, and do not try to rush.
